Markets in Palma

Mercat de l'Olivar

Nestled northeast of the Plaza Mayor, in the Marqués de Fontsanta area, the Mercat de l'Olivar is a vibrant market that embodies the essence of Palma in its diverse stalls. It's a food market that features a wide range of local produce, from fruit and vegetables to fish and meat stalls. One of its main advantages is that it is located inside an enclosed area, so you won't get cold or hot.

It is open every day in the morning except Sundays.

Pere Garau’s Market

A market proposal with more international options. Located in Plaça Pere Garau, this market is an authentic place with options much more affordable than the previous one. An ideal multicultural proposal to visit and take some product at a very good price.

Like the Mercat de l'Olivar, it is open every day in the morning except Sundays.

Markets around Palma

Sineu’s Market

In the heart of the town that shares its name, the Sineu’s Market stands as one of the oldest in Mallorca. With more than seven centuries of history, its stalls offer a unique traditional experience. It attracts a multitude of ranchers and farmers, perhaps because it is the only one on the island that still sells farm animals.

It is only open on Wednesdays, so plan your visit to the central area of the island during that day. The market is open air, so the streets and passages of the town are full of life during the day. We highly recommend Des Fossar Square, where most of the stalls are concentrated. This market not only sells food, you will also find artisan products and other clothing and accessories.

Consell Flea’s Market

As in Madrid’s Rastro, In Mallorca they also have their own second hand market, the Rastro de Consell, located in the municipality baptized with the same name. Located southwest of the Campo Municipal de Deportes, it's an ideal place to go for a stroll and browse the various second-hand items for sale at its open-air stalls. From clothing, toys, and books to collectibles and antiques, you might just find an antique treasure to take home!

Open every Sunday from 8 am to 2 pm.

Santanyí’s Market

A 45 min drive from Palma, southeast of the island, is the town of Santanyí, in whose Plaza Mayor is held every Saturday morning. One of the most popular in Mallorca!

This market, open all year round, offers a wide selection of local products, from food to handicrafts and high quality textiles. If you're looking for international products, spring and summer are ideal. Although we recommend that, to avoid the crowds, you visit early in the morning.
